India is gearing up to face New Zealand in the first Test of the three-match series in Bengaluru. The series holds more significance as it serves as a preparation for the upcoming World Test Championship finals in November and December.

While India aims to maintain their unbeaten streak and secure a victory before heading to Australia, New Zealand, on the other hand, is looking to bounce back from their recent struggles in Test cricket. With two consecutive series losses, the Black Caps are eager for a turnaround under new captain Tom Latham.

The first Test between India and New Zealand will kick off at 9:30 AM IST on Wednesday, October 16 in Bengaluru. The match will be broadcasted live on Sports18 1, Sports18 1 HD, and Colors Cineplex channels, with live streaming available on the JioCinema app and website.

The squads for the series are as follows:

India: Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant (w), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Sarfaraz Khan, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Dhruv Jurel, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep

New Zealand: Devon Conway, Tom Latham (c), Will Young, Kane Williamson, Michael Bracewell, Daryl Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra, Glenn Phillips, Tom Blundell (w), Mark Chapman, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Matt Henry, Jacob Duffy, Ajaz Patel, William O’Rourke
