New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, affectionately known as the industry’s He-Man, is currently receiving treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. As fans and well-wishers across the globe pray for his swift recovery, nostalgic memories of the actor have started to emerge on social media, including warm sentiments expressed by his longtime colleague Amitabh Bachchan.
Dharmendra has been hospitalized for over a week and was moved to intensive care for closer medical monitoring on November 10. Family members, including wife Hema Malini and children Sunny Deol and Esha Deol, provided updates on his health, confirming that he is “recovering” and “responding to treatment.”
In a recent throwback video shared by Wilderness Films India Ltd, Amitabh Bachchan spoke affectionately about his friendship with Dharmendra. He remarked in Hindi, “If we [he and Dharmendra] didn’t enjoy it, we would not work together. Yes, Dharmendra is a friend of mine, and I often go to him for advice. While working in films, several times, certain situations arise where I don’t understand how to go about a particular situation. Then I reach out to my friend for advice. He advises me and shows me the path ahead.” This statement underscores the deep bond between the two icons.
Throughout their illustrious careers, Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra have appeared together in four films: Ram Balram, Sholay, Hum Kaun Hai?, and Chupke Chupke.
