New Delhi: Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari has been in the spotlight recently for her roles in films and web series, including her acclaimed performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Heeramandi.” However, she recently sparked controversy after an old video resurfaced online, where she made comments regarding fellow actress Mallika Sherawat that led to widespread trolling on social media.
In the video, Aditi addressed comparisons with Sherawat, who starred in the original “Murder” film alongside Emraan Hashmi. During the promotional activities for “Murder 3,” Aditi remarked on the subject, leading to an awkward reaction from her co-star Randeep Hooda, who appeared surprised by her statement.
Aditi stated, “Everyone has their own journey and choices, but I truly believe there’s far more to sexuality. It’s more important for a person to have steel in their soul than silicone in their chest.” She elaborated, emphasizing the importance of personal integrity and self-belief, saying, “I believe it’s important to stand on your own and choose a path. Our movie’s triumph is that it’s much more than just sensuality dictated by others.”
Following Aditi’s comments, social media users responded critically, pointing out perceived hypocrisy given her own history with cosmetic surgery. One user remarked, “All she knows about acting is enlarging her eyes,” while another noted, “She always lies about her age, she’s had multiple plastic surgeries.” Others echoed similar sentiments, highlighting a perceived contradiction in her stance.
Aditi’s remarks and the subsequent reactions demonstrate the complexities of public discourse surrounding body image and self-perception in the film industry.
