Waaree Energies Limited has announced the addition of 1.5 GW of solar module manufacturing capacity at its facility in Samakhiali, Kutch, Gujarat, increasing the plant’s total annual capacity to 3 GW. This expansion was revealed on December 12, 2025.
The new capacity consists of two high-efficiency module production lines, each with a capacity of 750 MW, located at the same site. The Samakhiali facility has now become one of Waaree’s most technologically advanced manufacturing centers, incorporating next-generation automation, rigorous quality control systems, and integrated testing facilities.
With this latest expansion, Waaree’s total global solar module manufacturing capacity reaches approximately 22.3 GW, which includes 19.7 GW in India and 2.6 GW in the United States. Additionally, the company has a solar cell manufacturing capacity of 5.4 GW located in India.
Sunil Rathi, Executive Director at Waaree Energies, stated that this expansion will enable the company to better serve strategic markets and supports its objective of providing locally manufactured solar technologies at scale.
This capacity increase aligns with India’s Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, catering to the rising domestic and global demand for solar modules. In addition to modules and cells, Waaree’s offerings include inverters, battery storage systems, green hydrogen solutions, and EPC services.
Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Mumbai, Waaree Energies operates in India and over 25 other countries. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), shares of Waaree Energies Limited closed at ₹2,971.20, up by 75.80 points, or 2.62%, on the day of the announcement.
