Volkswagen has recently confirmed that two of its popular global models, the Golf GTI hot hatch and the Tiguan R-Line sporty SUV, will soon be making their way to the Indian market. While further details are still awaited, it is expected that these vehicles will be imported via the CBU (Completely Built-Up) route, resulting in a higher price tag due to import duties. The Golf GTI, known for its performance, is equipped with a 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 242 bhp and 37.72 kg-m, while the Tiguan R-Line boasts a 2-litre engine generating 187 bhp and 32.63 kg-m. This will mark the second GTI model to be introduced in India, following the success of the Polo GTI that was previously sold in the country.

In other automotive news, BMW has launched the 2025 BMW 3 Series LWB in India with a starting price of Rs 62.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The extended wheelbase model is powered by a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 254 bhp and 40.78 kg-m, paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The car comes packed with features including a 10.25-inch touchscreen display, a 12.3-inch driver display, a Harmon Kardon sound system, and various safety features like the BMW Driving Assistant suite. The wheelbase of the 3 Series LWB is 110 mm longer than the standard model available in other markets.

On the Volvo front, the new XC90 facelift has been launched in India with a price tag of ₹1.03 crore (ex-showroom). The SUV continues to be powered by a 2-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine and comes standard with AWD. Updates include a larger touchscreen infotainment system and visual enhancements such as new bumpers, slimmer headlamps, a refreshed grille design, and new alloys.

These latest launches from Volkswagen, BMW, and Volvo add to the excitement in the Indian automotive market, offering enthusiasts a range of high-performance and luxurious options to choose from.
