Vivo X200 Pro review: A picture-perfect performer?

The Vivo X200 Pro is the latest flagship smartphone from Vivo, following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Vivo X100 Pro. While the previous flagship took me back to a serene tea plantation in Kotagiri, the X200 Pro was reviewed in the bustling city of Chennai. Despite the change in surroundings, the phone’s upgraded camera still managed to impress.

Design-wise, the Vivo X200 Pro comes in Titanium Grey and Cosmos Black variants, with a minimal and elegant look. The standout feature is the camera module, underscoring the smartphone’s focus on photography. The device features a 6.78-inch 2K display that offers vibrant visuals, although it is prone to scratches.

The camera setup on the Vivo X200 Pro is impressive, with a 50 MP primary sensor, a 200 MP telephoto camera, and a 50 MP ultrawide camera. The telephoto lens allows for up to 100x zoom and captures detailed shots with low noise. The camera performs well in daylight, producing bright and vivid photos with accurate colors. The smartphone excels in low-light photography, compensating for the lack of light and minimizing noise. It also offers features like AI Erase and AI Photo Enhancer for enhancing images.

Under the hood, the Vivo X200 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. It runs on FunTouch OS 15 based on Android 15, with new AI features like real-time call translation and AI Note. The smartphone is equipped with a 6,000 mAh battery that offers excellent battery life and supports fast charging up to 90 W.

In conclusion, the Vivo X200 Pro impresses with its camera performance, AI features, and battery life. However, its lack of standout design elements and concerns about display durability may leave some users wanting more. Overall, the X200 Pro is a great choice for photography enthusiasts and power users, but others may find more compelling options in its price range.
