Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s Upcoming Visit to Telangana’s Electronic Manufacturing Hub

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Saturday that he would be visiting an electronic manufacturing cluster located in Divitipally, Telangana. This facility, which receives support from both the state and central governments, focuses primarily on the production of battery packs, cell manufacturing, and lithium batteries—key components for the burgeoning electric vehicle sector.

During his visit, Vaishnaw emphasized the importance of electronics manufacturing, noting, “Prime Minister Modi has placed significant importance on the electronics industry, and Telangana is home to three clusters funded by the central government, one of which is in Divitipally. This site is essential for manufacturing battery packs and lithium batteries, which are vital for the growth of electric vehicles in the country.”

He further mentioned that the central government has allocated resources for infrastructure development, indicating, “I believe this factory is highly advanced, and I look forward to seeing it.”

In a separate announcement, Vaishnaw, who is also the Railway Minister, discussed measures for crowd management at train stations following a high-level meeting. He revealed plans to establish permanent waiting areas outside 60 stations nationwide.

“Pilot projects are already underway at stations such as New Delhi, Anand Vihar, Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Patna,” he stated. The strategy requires passengers to remain in the waiting areas until their trains arrive, which aims to reduce congestion at the platforms. Passengers with confirmed tickets will have direct access to the platforms, while those without tickets or holding waiting list tickets will have to wait in the designated areas.

Inspired by the operational arrangements during the Mahakumbh, the railway authorities will implement two new designs for Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) with widths of 12 meters (approximately 40 feet) and 6 meters (about 20 feet) across all stations. Additionally, numerous surveillance cameras will be installed for enhanced security monitoring. Railway personnel will also be issued new identification cards to ensure that only authorized individuals can access the stations. Station directors will now have the authority to regulate ticket sales based on the station’s capacity and the number of available trains.
