New Delhi: The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, comprising the Congress, Shiv Sena, and NCP, criticized the Maharashtra government on Sunday for its handling of law and order, alleged corruption, and unfulfilled promises.

During a joint press conference, Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray stated, “The BJP’s situation is so dire that they are compelled to ally with corrupt and treacherous leaders. Let Mahayuti announce their CM candidate first, and then we will reveal ours. Mahayuti should announce their CM candidate first.”

NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Congress leader Nana Patole supported Thackeray’s stance on the MVA’s chief ministerial candidate. Patole mentioned that the “Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme” lacked clarity in budgeting and financial provisions. He highlighted the need for separate financial support provisions for the scheme to avoid opposition.

The MVA leaders released a booklet titled ‘Gaddarancha Panchnama,’ accusing the Maharashtra government of favoring Gujarat over Maharashtra. The booklet outlines alleged corruption in various projects, including a “rate card” for purchasing MLAs and corporators, transferring officials, and recruiting for government positions. The opposition also highlighted the significant increase in essential items’ prices and its impact on the youth due to frequent paper leaks and contract-based recruitments.

Congress leader Nana Patole urged voters to oust the Shinde government for inciting hatred and creating caste and community divisions. Thackeray assured that the MVA, once in power, would prioritize job creation.

The assembly elections in Maharashtra are expected to take place later this year, as the current assembly’s term ends on November 26.
