TVS Motor Company has unveiled the Orbiter, an addition to its electric scooter range in India, priced at Rs 99,900 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). This model is targeted toward urban youth and is inspired by the design elements of the TVS Jupiter.

The Orbiter is powered by a 3.1kWh battery, offering a claimed range of 158 kilometers. Although the company has not disclosed information regarding the charging duration or fast-charging capabilities, the scooter is included within the parameters of the PM e-Drive scheme.

Available in six color options—Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper—the Orbiter features a 14-inch front wheel and a 12-inch rear wheel. Its distinctive boxy design incorporates a large LED light that extends from the front to the rear of the scooter. The handlebar features an LED lamp with daytime running lights (DRLs) reminiscent of the TVS Jupiter.

Under the seat, the scooter boasts a storage capacity of 34 liters, sufficient to accommodate two helmets, along with a generous 290mm flat floorboard. Technological enhancements include cruise control, hill-hold assist, and reverse parking assist. Additionally, standard features comprise a USB charging port, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and integration with a smartphone application.

In a related development, Maruti Suzuki recently launched its e-VITARA electric vehicle, highlighted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This vehicle marks the company’s first electric SUV intended for global export, with manufacturing taking place in Hansalpur, Gujarat. Reports indicate that the e-VITARA will be shipped to over 100 countries.
