Upon assuming office, US President Donald Trump initiated a 100-day campaign to bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine. During this time, Kyiv’s long-range weaponry was targeting key Russian assets such as oil depots, weapons storage facilities, and factories, dealing heavy blows to Russia’s war efforts.

Trump emphasized the importance of not only winning battles but also ending wars and preventing future conflicts in his inaugural address. He criticized his predecessor, former President Joe Biden, for allowing the war in Ukraine to begin and pledged to swiftly resolve the crisis.

General Keith Kellog, Trump’s special envoy, set a 100-day deadline to secure a ceasefire in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in response to Trump’s inauguration, expressed a willingness to engage in negotiations to address the root causes of the conflict, particularly NATO’s expansion towards Russia.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov highlighted the potential for reaching an agreement under the Trump administration, contrasting it with the pessimism of the previous US government.

Meanwhile, Ukraine continued its strategic targeting of Russian military assets, significantly impacting the enemy’s combat capabilities.

Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskii revealed that Russian artillery ammunition consumption had dropped by half due to Ukrainian strikes, hampering Russian troops’ ability to sustain high-intensity combat operations.

Recent successful strikes by Ukraine included targeting Russian oil depots, weapons facilities, and military supply stores in various regions of Russia.

These targeted attacks have severely weakened Russia’s war effort and disrupted its military supply chain.

Ukrainian ground forces also played a role in sabotaging Russian equipment and facilities behind enemy lines.

In response, Russia intensified its attacks on Ukrainian positions, capturing key territories and preparing for additional offensives in eastern Ukraine.

The village of Vremivka fell to Russian forces after a prolonged campaign, providing Russia with a strategic position near Velyka Novosilka, a vital location for disrupting Ukrainian supply lines.

Russian forces also amassed south of Pokrovsk, indicating a potential major offensive in the region.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine’s incursion into Kursk had forced Russia to divert significant resources to defend its own territory, impacting their operations in Ukraine.

However, Ukraine remains vigilant as Russian forces amass near Pokrovsk, presenting a formidable challenge to Ukrainian defenses.

The situation remains volatile as both sides prepare for escalating hostilities, with casualties and territorial gains and losses characterizing the ongoing conflict.
