Top 10 Firms Gain ₹1.18 Lakh Cr; SBI and Airtel Shine

The combined market valuation of seven of the top ten most valued firms in India increased by ₹1,18,328.29 crore last week, with the State Bank of India (SBI) and Bharti Airtel being the largest gainers. This surge coincided with a positive trend in the equity market, as the BSE benchmark rose by 721.53 points, or 0.88 percent.

The winners included prominent companies such as Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India, Infosys, and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). Conversely, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance, and Hindustan Unilever were noted as laggards.

The market valuation of the State Bank of India increased by ₹35,953.25 crore, bringing its total valuation to ₹7,95,910 crore. Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel saw an addition of ₹33,214.77 crore, raising its valuation to ₹11,18,952.64 crore. Reliance Industries’ market capitalization grew by ₹17,389.23 crore to reach ₹19,04,898.51 crore, while TCS’s valuation surged by ₹12,952.75 crore to ₹11,46,879.47 crore. LIC’s market capitalization rose by ₹12,460.25 crore to ₹5,65,612.92 crore, and Infosys gained ₹6,127.73 crore, raising its valuation to ₹6,39,901.03 crore. HDFC Bank saw a modest increase of ₹230.31 crore, bringing its market cap to ₹14,84,816.26 crore.

In contrast, ICICI Bank’s market valuation fell by ₹10,707.87 crore to ₹10,01,654.46 crore. Bajaj Finance’s value eroded by ₹6,346.93 crore, now totaling ₹6,17,892.72 crore, and Hindustan Unilever declined by ₹5,039.87 crore, with a current valuation of ₹6,01,225.16 crore.

Reliance Industries remains the top company by market valuation, followed by HDFC Bank, TCS, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Infosys, Bajaj Finance, Hindustan Unilever, and LIC.
