Lucknow: RP Sanjiv Goenka Group has appointed former Australian cricketer Tom Moody as the Global Director of Cricket for its T20 franchise teams worldwide. Moody, renowned for his coaching credentials and success in various tournaments, including titles in the IPL and the Hundred, expressed enthusiasm about the new role, which involves overseeing cricket operations for the Lucknow Super Giants, Durban Super Giants, and Manchester’s franchise in the Hundred.
In a statement, Moody remarked, “It’s a privilege to accept the role of Global Director of Cricket for the RPSG Group. After positive discussions with Mr. Goenka, it became very clear that this was an exciting opportunity, and I also welcome the chance to work alongside him. I look forward to helping build a unified cricketing philosophy across the franchises, driving excellence in performance, player development, and strategic planning to ensure continued success both on and off the field.”
Despite the new appointment, Moody will have to step down from his position with the Oval Invincibles in the Hundred, where he led the team to a rare three-peat in the men’s competition. Nevertheless, he is expected to maintain his role in the ILT20.
The Lucknow Super Giants feature an impressive support staff, including head coach Justin Langer, strategic advisor Kane Williamson, assistant coach Lance Klusener, bowling coach Bharat Arun, and spin consultant Carl Crowe as they prepare for the 2026 IPL season.
Having failed to qualify for the playoffs in their first two seasons, the Super Giants’ leadership team, including Langer and Moody, aims to enhance the squad’s performance in the upcoming season, with retention decisions and auctions looming.
