Tej Pratap Yadav has addressed the recent exit of his sister, Rohini Acharya, from politics amid ongoing family disputes. He expressed support for her decision, commending her for the significant sacrifice she made, particularly her act of donating a kidney to their father, Lalu Yadav. “In her own way, she is absolutely right. The truth is that, as a woman, the kind of sacrifice she has made is something hardly any daughter or mother could do,” he stated.
Tej Pratap, the elder son of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader, warned that anyone who insults his sister will “face the wrath of Krishna’s Sudarshan Chakra.”
Several months ago, Tej Pratap was expelled from the RJD by his father, leading him to establish a new political group called the ‘Janshakti Janata Dal’, which faced significant defeats in the recent elections. He has recently placed blame on Sanjay Yadav, whom he refers to as ‘Jaichand’, claiming that Yadav is a source of turmoil within both the party and the family.
Rohini Acharya’s announcement to “quit” politics raised alarms within Bihar’s political landscape, with observers speculating on the future of the Lalu family’s political dynasty. Her claims have highlighted the internal strife within the RJD and the dynamics involving family members.
On the previous Saturday, Rohini Acharya revealed her intention to distance herself from the political arena and take full responsibility for the party’s disappointing performance in the elections. She alleged that she had been “disgraced, abused, and even hit” when confronting Sanjay Yadav regarding the party’s electoral losses.
“I have no family. You can ask Sanjay Yadav, Rameez, and Tejashwi Yadav. They are the ones who threw me out of the family,” she told reporters following her shocking announcement.
Rohini further stated that party leadership is unwilling to accept responsibility for the poor results in the Bihar Assembly elections. The RJD secured only 25 seats despite contesting in more than 140 seats in the 243-member state assembly.
