Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin condemned remarks made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an election campaign in Bihar that allegedly incited enmity between Tamils and residents of Bihar.
In a social media post, Stalin highlighted a video clip where Modi accused DMK members in Tamil Nadu of harming Biharis. “As a Tamil, I am pained, and I request Mr. Narendra Modi not to forget that he is the Prime Minister of this country. He should maintain the dignity of his office and refrain from such speeches,” Stalin stated.
He criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for what he termed “spewing hatred against Tamils,” regardless of the region, whether it be Odisha or Bihar. Stalin urged Modi and BJP members to cease “cheap” political tactics that create division between Hindus and Muslims and foster animosity between Tamils and the people of Bihar in a nation celebrated for its diversity.
Instead, he emphasized the need for a focus on the welfare of the country.
