Sneh Rana Shines with Stellar Performance Against Pakistan in Women’s World Cup Showdown

New Delhi: The Indian women’s cricket team delivered a stellar performance against the Pakistan women’s team during the ongoing Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. The match took place at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on October 6. Starting the tournament strong, the Women in Blue continued their winning streak with a decisive victory over Pakistan.

India scored 247 runs in their first innings, successfully restricting Pakistan to 159 runs, thereby winning the match by 88 runs. A standout performer in this game was 31-year-old Sneh Rana, who garnered attention for her remarkable bowling.

Rana claimed two wickets in her eight overs, leading her to become the top wicket-taker in the Women’s ODI circuit for 2025, with a total of 25 wickets. Following her in the rankings are Aaliyah Alleyne with 24 wickets and both Deepti Sharma and Afy Fletcher, each with 23 wickets.

Rana’s impactful spell was instrumental in securing the victory against Pakistan. Additionally, Kranti Goud and Deepti Sharma each took three wickets, contributing significantly to the team’s success.

Upcoming Match Against South Africa

Looking ahead, the Indian women’s team is scheduled to face South Africa women in their next match. This game will be held at the Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on October 9.

Having secured two wins so far, the Indian side aims to sustain their momentum and achieve another victory. Following their win against Pakistan, India has ascended to the top position in the World Cup standings, and the team aspires to replicate their strong performance in future contests.
