Samhi Hotels Limited has secured approval from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) to extend its development plans for a dual-branded hotel near Navi Mumbai International Airport. The project, which is set to feature around 700 rooms, will represent the company’s first venture into the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and will become its largest asset by room count.
The hotel complex is expected to include properties under the Westin and Fairfield by Marriott brands, pending final agreements. The initial phase will encompass approximately 400 rooms, with additional capacity planned for subsequent phases. Strategically located along the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the site is in proximity to the airport, DY Patil Stadium, and the Atal Setu Trans-Harbour Link.
Chairman and Managing Director Ashish Jakhanwala stated that this extension aligns with the commercial growth of Navi Mumbai, providing development certainty. The dual-brand strategy is designed to cater to a diverse range of demand segments, including aviation, corporate, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), sports, entertainment, and leisure travelers.
Currently, SAMHI Hotels operates 31 hotels with a total of 4,862 rooms across 13 cities in India, collaborating with major brands such as Marriott, IHG, and Hyatt. The company positions itself as a branded hotel ownership and asset management platform backed by institutional investors and managed by professionals.
The phased development approach allows SAMHI to introduce capacity to the market more quickly while syncing with infrastructure growth in the Navi Mumbai corridor. This project is seen as a strategic move into a critical gateway market for the company.
As of 11:50 AM today, shares of SAMHI Hotels Limited were trading at ₹207.70, reflecting an increase of ₹9.21 or 4.64%.
