New Delhi: India and the West Indies are currently competing in the second and final Test match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The West Indies find themselves in a challenging position, having conceded a substantial total of 518 runs to India in the first innings. On the third day of the match, the absence of Sai Sudharsan on the field raised eyebrows.
During the West Indies’ innings on Saturday, Sudharsan sustained an impact injury to his hand while fielding at short leg. He was struck by a sweep shot from John Campbell, but despite the hard impact, Sudharsan spectacularly managed to catch the ball, resulting in Campbell’s dismissal.
Following the incident, medical staff attended to Sudharsan, who subsequently left the field. According to a report from Cricbuzz on the third day, Sudharsan remained off the field as a precaution, although he is reported to be in good condition.
“Sai Sudharsan had an impact injury on Day 2 while attempting a catch. He has not taken the field today as a precautionary measure. The injury is not serious, and he is doing fine. He continues to be monitored by the BCCI Medical Team,” the update stated.
Further updates are anticipated as the match progresses.
