Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) Secures ₹3,622-crore BharatNet Contract from BSNL

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) has recently been awarded a significant contract by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the development and maintenance of BharatNet’s middle mile network. The contract, valued at ₹3,622.14 crore, marks a key milestone for RVNL and underscores its leadership in the infrastructure development space.

Under the terms of the contract, RVNL will lead a consortium that includes HFCL and ATS to execute the project. The work will involve the creation, upgradation, and maintenance of the network infrastructure, supporting the expansion of BharatNet’s connectivity across the country.

The project will be executed under a Design Build Operate and Maintain (DBOM) model, with a phased timeline that includes a three-year construction period followed by a 10-year maintenance contract. This structured approach ensures the effective development and long-term sustainability of the network.

RVNL has confirmed that the project falls within its normal course of business and does not involve any related party transactions, further enhancing the transparency and credibility of the contract.

The award of this contract is a testament to RVNL’s expertise and capabilities in delivering complex infrastructure projects. It positions the company as a key player in the digital connectivity space, supporting the government’s vision of expanding broadband access to remote and underserved areas.

The share price of RVNL has surged in response to this news, reflecting investor confidence in the company’s growth prospects and the value of the BharatNet contract. As RVNL embarks on this project, it aims to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions that contribute to the advancement of digital connectivity in India.

In conclusion, RVNL’s latest contract win underscores its commitment to driving innovation and development in the infrastructure sector. With the BharatNet project, RVNL is poised to make a significant impact on the digital landscape of the country, paving the way for enhanced connectivity and access to digital services for all.
