Mumbai: In the 20th match of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) faced off against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium on April 12. RCB showcased a strong performance, emerging victorious by 18 runs.
RCB set a formidable target, scoring 240 runs in their innings. In response, MI managed to reach only 222 runs, which allowed RCB to secure the win and return to form.
With this victory, RCB joined Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the team with the most wins—23—in the IPL when defending a 200+ target. Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) follow with 18 wins, while Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders are in the third position with 15 victories each.
After the match, RCB captain Rajat Patidar addressed the media, reflecting on the team’s performance. He emphasized the unique atmosphere at Wankhede and his team’s approach to batting. “I feel amazing. I think whenever we come here in Mumbai, especially at this ground, the atmosphere, the fans, and playing in a full-packed stadium—that’s a different feeling,” Patidar stated. He also highlighted the clarity and focus among the players, particularly praising the opening partnership between Virat Kohli and Phil Salt, which he credited for putting RCB in a dominant position.
