As CIO-CDO of BGSW, what are your key priorities for the next 12–18 months? What CIO-level trends do you foresee shaping enterprise tech?

As the Chief Information and Digital Officer for Corporate IT at BGSW, I view our mission as fundamental to driving the company’s AI-First and Digital Next transformation. While external innovation captures market attention, it is our internal digital infrastructure—the integration backbone of BGSW—that enables agility, intelligence, and scale across the enterprise.

Corporate IT is not just about systems and uptime; it is about re-platforming internal capabilities, embedding intelligence into every process, and orchestrating outcomes across functions and value streams.

We are prioritizing AI-first internal platforms, modern integration architectures, and deep legacy modernization to build intelligent, composable systems that drive enterprise agility. Our transformation focuses on shifting from fragmented, record-based processes to unified, intelligent platforms that enable real-time decision-making. This involves deploying microservices, scaling internal GenAI agents, and decoupling legacy monoliths.

Our accelerated delivery framework—“5 Days to PoC, 5 Weeks to Pilot”—reflects our commitment to rapid experimentation and responsible scaling. These initiatives are not just technology upgrades; they represent a cultural shift toward innovation velocity and outcome-driven transformation.

In the next 12 months, our focus will be on driving Fit.Future and Fit.Journey—delivering economic efficiency, operational excellence, and empowered digital experiences. As we advance toward a Digital Next, AI-First future, our goal remains clear: to adapt, accelerate, and empower BGSW to lead with intelligence and agility.

How are you shaping BGSW’s evolution from a delivery-driven unit to a global innovation engine aligned with a software-first and AI-led strategy?

At BGSW, we are transitioning from a service delivery mindset to a software innovation powerhouse, aligned with Bosch’s AI-led and software-first agenda. This shift is powered by embedding intelligence into every layer of our digital fabric—across engineering, operations, and decision-making.

We are operationalizing AI through agentic automation, adopting data mesh architecture to support federated insights, and building composable platforms that drive speed, modularity, and scalability. Our commitment to sustainability, governance, and responsible AI ensures we scale innovation ethically.

This transformation is not just strategic—it’s cultural. Innovation is now everyone’s job, and technology is our engine for enterprise reinvention.

How are you leveraging AI, cloud, and IoT to drive innovation and support the organization’s enterprise transformation?

At BGSW, we view AI, cloud, and IoT as the cornerstone of Bosch’s transformation journey, each playing a distinct yet interconnected role.

Cloud provides scalable infrastructure and speeds up innovation cycles.
AI brings intelligence to operations, powering decisions and enabling autonomous behaviours.
IoT acts as the sensory network, feeding real-time data into edge-AI systems for predictive insights.

From predictive maintenance to real-time operational dashboards and intelligent mobility platforms, we are fusing these technologies to create a responsive, self-learning enterprise.

This triad isn’t just technical—it’s strategic. It enables Bosch to move beyond connected products towards intelligent, data-driven ecosystems that continuously evolve and deliver value at scale.

How are you operationalizing Generative AI at BGSW internally and for customer-facing solutions?

At BGSW, we have progressed beyond GenAI experimentation to purposeful implementation—both internally and with our customers. Internally, GenAI copilots are augmenting productivity across functions, from code reviews and HR workflows to meeting summarisation, improving productivity and collaboration.

On the customer front, we are piloting domain-specific GenAI agents in engineering, mobility, and manufacturing. These initiatives are underpinned by strong governance frameworks that encompass bias detection, risk modelling, and compliance validation to ensure responsible AI adoption.

Our 5D5W (5 Days to PoC, 5 Weeks to Pilot) embodies our commitment to speed with structure, enabling rapid experimentation and scalable implementation.

For us, GenAI is not a buzzword; it is a systemically integrated enabler of enterprise transformation, designed to deliver measurable, responsible, and lasting impact.

How are you embedding trust, governance, and risk management in BGSW’s digital infrastructure?

At BGSW, trust is not an afterthought; it is a foundational principle of our digital transformation agenda. We embed it through a multi-layered governance framework that ensures security, compliance, and ethics are integral to every system we build.

Policy-as-code enforces compliance by design, ensuring consistency and accountability.
AI explainability and traceability models promote transparency and ethical deployment.
Zero-trust architecture and secure-by-design development reflect our proactive approach to cybersecurity.

Our AI maturity model defines where human oversight is essential, while automated governance extends across the entire lifecycle—from development to deployment.

At BGSW, digital transformation is engineered with security, compliance, and ethics at its core, ensuring that every innovation is both trusted and transformative.

How are you driving talent transformation in AI, embedded systems, and data engineering?

At BGSW, our vision for talent goes beyond training—we are building a culture of continuous learning and AI fluency that empowers every associate to lead with intelligence.

Role-based learning paths are enabling data literacy and AI proficiency across the organisation.
Hands-on labs, hackathons, and real-world GenAI use case implementations are translating into applied innovations.
Mentorship programmes and tech guilds are focused on deep expertise in embedded AI, data engineering, and semantic platforms.

We empower our people to move from consumers of technology to creators of intelligent solutions. At BGSW, talent transformation is our lever for long-term innovation resilience, powering sustainable growth in an AI-first future.

What leadership principles or cultural shifts are you fostering at BGSW to unlock innovation and enterprise value?

At BGSW, leadership is about enabling autonomy and co-creation. We are fostering a start-up-inspired, experimentation-driven culture where hypothesis-based problem-solving is the norm.

Our leadership principles prioritise platform thinking and product mindset over project-based execution, cross-functional collaboration to enable faster value creation, and AI fluency and digital curiosity embedded into all leadership development.

Innovation is no longer a top-down directive; it is a bottom-up movement, powered by empowered teams and guided by purpose. This cultural reset is the foundation for unlocking sustained enterprise value and organisational agility—ensuring that we lead not just with technology, but with intent and imagination.
