New Delhi: Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar has dominated the box office since its release on December 5. The film, which will be released in two parts, has generated significant buzz, largely attributed to the collective effort of the entire production team. The dedication of technicians, writers, directors, and the cast is apparent in every frame of the film.
In a recent interview with India TV, Rakesh Bedi, who portrays Jameel Jamali in Dhurandhar, discussed his experiences on set and the film’s success. He made a noteworthy comment regarding lead actor Ranveer Singh, asserting that the film may not have succeeded without Singh’s confidence as an actor.
Bedi expressed admiration for Singh’s professionalism, stating, “Nobody is insecure at all, let me tell you that. I salute Ranveer Singh for the way he has handled himself in this film and presented himself. There are many scenes—approximately 40 to 50—where he is positioned in the second row, allowing other character actors space to perform and move the story forward. He is not trying to eclipse anyone’s performance or assert dominance over the lines.”
He emphasized that if a less secure actor had taken on the role, the film’s outcome might have differed: “The reason for the film’s success is that he (Ranveer) has played his character to perfection.”
Bedi further remarked on Singh’s commitment to the project, noting, “He was absolutely 100% involved in the film. After a long time, I saw a leading man who was concerned not only during his scenes but also during those of other actors. He wanted to ensure that everything was executed properly, sometimes staying on set even after his scenes were completed to assist the direction and production teams, recognizing the film’s uniqueness.”
Additionally, during a rapid-fire segment, Bedi revealed that he was among the Dhurandhar cast members who constantly sought additional takes to perfect their performances.
