New Delhi: Amitabh Bachchan, known as the megastar of Indian cinema, has garnered millions of fans globally. While many fans aspire to emulate his iconic style, one individual, inspired by Bachchan, moved to Mumbai and transformed into a billionaire.
This individual is Anand Pandit, a well-known Bollywood film producer whose net worth now exceeds that of Amitabh Bachchan. Pandit is ranked among the top film producers and businessmen in the industry. His admiration for Bachchan, particularly for the actor’s role in the 1978 film “Trishul,” motivated Pandit to shift to Mumbai and establish a successful real estate empire. What began as a desire to catch a glimpse of his idol has evolved into a deep friendship between the two.
According to the recently published Hurun India Rich List 2025, Amitabh Bachchan’s wealth is estimated at ₹1,630 crore, placing him fifth among actors. In contrast, Anand Pandit ranks significantly higher, with a reported net worth of ₹8,660 crore, making him one of Bollywood’s wealthiest figures.
Anand Pandit has been involved in film distribution and production for over a decade. He kickstarted his career with the distribution of “Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2” and went on to produce several films, including “Great Grand Masti,” “Satyameva Jayate,” “The Big Bull,” “Kabzaa,” “PM Narendra Modi,” and “Swatantra Veer Savarkar.” Although none of his films have crossed the ₹100 crore mark at the domestic box office, they have still achieved notable commercial success.
In a recent interview with ANI, Anand Pandit shared how the film “Trishul” significantly altered the course of his life. “The film ‘Trishul’ and Big B’s character in it left a deep impact on me. I watched it in theaters at least 50-60 times. This inspired me to come to Mumbai and start my real estate business,” he stated.
Currently, Anand is collaborating on a new film featuring Amitabh Bachchan, with an announcement expected in the near future.
