On the occasion of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) centenary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi published a blog titled “100 Years of National Service.” In a post shared on X, he noted, “A hundred years ago, on the day of Vijayadashami, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was established with the aim of social service and nation-building. Over a long period, countless volunteers have dedicated their lives to realizing this resolve.”

In his tribute, PM Modi praised the RSS for its century of service and nation-building, referring to the organization as a “virtuous incarnation” of India’s enduring national consciousness, which began on Vijayadashami under founder K.B. Hedgewar. He highlighted the dedication of RSS volunteers in various sectors, including social service, education, women’s empowerment, and disaster relief. He likened the Sangh’s impact to a river that nurtures and sustains everything it encounters, emphasizing its role in promoting patriotism, preserving traditions, and fostering self-respect in society.

The Prime Minister further commended the organization for its steadfastness during the freedom struggle and subsequent challenges, recognizing its contributions in combating discrimination and untouchability. He referenced the teachings of historical leaders who advocated for social harmony and noted the RSS’s ongoing efforts with tribal communities and disaster relief, emphasizing its commitment to a “Nation First” philosophy. He welcomed the organization’s plans to address contemporary issues, such as demographic changes and environmental protection, declaring the centenary a proud milestone for India.
