OBC leader Nayab Singh Saini was sworn in as the chief minister of Haryana today in a ceremony attended by several NDA leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Saini took the oath in Hindi, along with Ambala Cantt MLA Anil Vij, Israna MLA Krishan Lal Panwar, Badshahpur MLA Rao Narbir Singh, Tosham MLA Shruti Choudhary, Ateli MLA Arti Singh Rao, and Radaur MLA Shyam Singh Rana.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Valmiki Jayanti, which is significant as Valmiki is a revered figure, especially among Dalits. Haryana can have a maximum of 14 ministers, including the chief minister.

Various chief ministers of NDA-ruled states were in attendance, along with BJP president J P Nadda and Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah.

Before the ceremony, Saini visited Valmiki Bhawan and offered prayers at a gurdwara and the Mansa Devi temple. He expressed his commitment to taking Haryana forward under the leadership of PM Modi.

The BJP secured a third term in Haryana in the recent assembly polls, with Saini unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party. Saini, an OBC face of the party, replaced Manohar Lal Khattar as the chief minister in March.

The new BJP government in Haryana is determined to implement the party’s poll manifesto, as they have done in the past. Saini reassured that the promises made in the Sankalp Patra will be fulfilled.

Overall, the swearing-in ceremony was a momentous occasion, signaling a new chapter for Haryana under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
