In anticipation of the Global Investor Summit 2025 (GIM 2025), Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, MB Patil, announced the state’s intention to sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with 5 to 6 international universities and 6 to 8 domestic universities. This initiative aims to establish educational institutions within Karnataka’s forthcoming knowledge and innovation hub, known as ‘KWIN.’

Minister Patil emphasized that GIM 2025 will not only focus on attracting industrial investments but will also highlight the importance of research, skill development, and related sectors to cultivate a highly skilled workforce.

A diverse range of Indian universities and institutions has been invited to participate in the summit, including Azim Premji University, PES University, MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Dayananda Sagar University, Chanakya University, St. Joseph’s University, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Amity University, BLDE University, Christ University, Jain University, and KLE University.

The KWIN-City project is set to be developed over approximately 5,000 acres located between Doddaballapur and Dabaspet. The objective of this project is to create a comprehensive hub for education, healthcare, research, and innovation, which will unite top-tier institutions and industries to foster growth in these critical areas within Karnataka.
