New Delhi: Aditya Dhar’s spy-thriller “Dhurandhar” is making waves at the box office, receiving considerable acclaim from various high-profile personalities. Notable figures from both Bollywood and South Indian cinema have expressed their admiration for the film.
Recently, Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut added her voice to the chorus of praise. After viewing the film, she took to Instagram to share her thoughts. “I watched #dhurandhar and had a great time. Totally inspired by the art and craft of this masterpiece but honestly, huge admiration for the intention of the filmmaker. Dear Aditya Dhar ji, on the borders, our defense forces, in the government, our Modi ji, and in Bollywood cinema, you are the true Dhurandhar, tackling Pakistani terrorists. It was a fantastic experience; I whistled and clapped all the way! Superb work by everyone, but the true Dhurandhar of this show is the filmmaker himself, @adityadharfilms. Congratulations to Yami Gautam,” wrote Ranaut.
Interestingly, Ranaut did not mention Ranveer Singh, the lead actor of “Dhurandhar.” This omission has sparked speculation among some Reddit users, who suspect it may be linked to her strained relationship with Deepika Padukone.
The film, featuring Ranveer Singh as an Indian intelligence spy, draws inspiration from real-life events. In addition to Singh, the cast includes Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and Rakesh Bedi. Akshaye Khanna portrays Rahman Dacoit, the leader of a Baloch gang.
“Dhurandhar” has been performing exceptionally well at the box office, completing two weeks with remarkable earnings. It grossed ₹207.25 crore in its first week and ₹253.25 crore in the second week, totaling over ₹486 crore within 15 days. The film is projected to surpass the ₹500 crore mark soon, enjoying strong performance not only in India but worldwide.
