The partnership between Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Tata Communications to enhance connected vehicle capabilities across 120 countries is a significant step towards the future of automotive technology. This collaboration will utilize Tata Communications’ MOVE platform to power JLR’s next generation of software-defined vehicles, starting with medium-sized SUVs built on their new Electric Modular Architecture (EMA) in 2026.

One of the key features of this collaboration is the seamless network transitions between operators and continuous connectivity for services like media streaming, even in remote locations. This will be a game-changer for JLR’s connected fleet, which currently generates 2.5 terabytes of data daily. The MOVE platform is expected to increase data exchange capability, enabling real-time vehicle performance monitoring and more efficient over-the-air software updates.

This partnership aligns with JLR’s broader digital transformation strategy and sustainability goals, including achieving carbon net zero across operations by 2039 and transitioning to all-electric models for their Range Rover, Discovery, and Defender lines by 2030. It also highlights JLR’s commitment to providing secure data connectivity and continuous connected experiences for their luxury clientele.

Overall, this collaboration between JLR and Tata Communications sets the stage for the next generation of connected cars, with enhanced features, improved performance, and a greater focus on sustainability. It will be interesting to see how this partnership evolves and how it shapes the future of the automotive industry.
