Iran Threatens All-Out War Over Nuclear Attack

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated in an interview with Al Jazeera that any potential attack by Israel or the United States on Iran’s nuclear facilities would result in a full-scale war in the region.

During a visit to Qatar, Araghchi warned that a military strike on Iranian nuclear sites would be a grave mistake, and Iran would respond swiftly and decisively. He emphasized that such an attack would escalate into a war across the region.

There are concerns in Iran that US President Donald Trump may authorize Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to target Iran’s nuclear facilities and tighten US sanctions in his second term. Araghchi met with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to discuss regional issues and praised Qatar’s role in mediating a ceasefire in Gaza.

He also met with Hamas officials and highlighted the Palestinians’ resilience in the face of Israel’s attacks. Despite the devastation in Gaza, Araghchi commended the Palestinians for standing firm and achieving victory.

In terms of developments in Syria, Araghchi expressed Iran’s support for the formation of an inclusive government after the removal of former President Bashar al-Assad, who was a key ally of Iran. Iran’s priorities are stability in Syria and preserving the country’s territorial unity.

Araghchi stressed the importance of a government chosen by the Syrian people to achieve peace and security in the region. Iran has been a supporter of al-Assad since the beginning of Syria’s war in 2011, providing military aid to uphold its interests in the region.

Regarding the re-election of Trump, Araghchi highlighted the history of strained relations between Iran and the US, emphasizing the need for practical steps to rebuild trust. He called for the return of Iranian funds and expressed willingness to engage in direct talks on the nuclear issue.
