New Delhi:

The IPL 2026 auction gripped the fans to their television and mobile screens as all the 10 teams put their best foot forward in building their squads for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. Cameron Green became the most expensive player of the 2026 auction and the most expensive overseas buy overall in the history of the tournament as Kolkata Knight Riders splurged Rs 25.2 Crore on the Australian all-rounder.

Meanwhile, uncapped Indians Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma created record as they became the most expensive uncapped buys in the history of the tournament. Chennai Super Kings spent a record sum of Rs 14.20 crore each on both the players as they are now the joint most expensive uncapped players in the IPL, breaking the previous record held by Avesh Khan, who was sold for Rs 10 crore to Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022 when he was uncapped.

KKR, as expected, were the busiest franchise. They picked Cameron Green as replacement for the now-retired Andre Russell. KKR also picked Matheesha Pathirana for Rs 18 crore as they broke their bank for the two players.

Defending champions RCB made some smart buys as they picked Venkatesh Iyer, Satvik Deswal (INR 30 lakh), Mangesh Yadav (INR 5.20 Cr), Jacob Duffy (INR 2 Cr), Jordan Coax (Rs 75 lakh), Vicky Ostwal (Rs 30 lakh), Vihaan Malhotra (RS 30 lakh) and Kanishk Chouhan (Rs 30 lakh).
