Introducing the New Mahindra THAR 3-Door: Starting at ₹9.99 Lakh with 10.25-Inch Touchscreen, Rear AC Vents, and More!

Mahindra and Mahindra, the domestic automobile manufacturer, unveiled a new version of its highly acclaimed SUV, the Mahindra THAR, on Friday. Notably, this model is priced competitively, starting at Rs 9.99 lakh and reaching up to Rs 16.99 lakh. This launch caters to Thar enthusiasts with more modest budgets who aspire to own this iconic SUV.

The new variant features a three-door design, enhanced by a redesigned black-themed dashboard and a new steering wheel, improving its overall aesthetic appeal.

What’s special about the new Thar?

Iconic Design

  • Distinctive front grille complemented by dual-tone bumpers
  • All-new black-themed dashboard and updated steering wheel
  • Available in six color options, including two new choices: Tango Red and Battleship Gray

Comfort and Convenience

  • New center console equipped with a sliding armrest and rear AC vents
  • Door-mounted power windows, an internally operated fuel lid, and a dead pedal in automatic transmission variants
  • Features such as rear wash and wiper, A-pillar entry assist handle, and a rearview camera

Smart Technology

  • 26.03 cm HD infotainment screen supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Type-C USB ports located at the front and rear, along with Adventure Stats Gen II

What the company said

Nalinikant Gollagunta, Chief Executive Officer of the Automotive Division at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., remarked, “Over the past few years, the Thar has become more than just an SUV; it’s a symbol of freedom, adventure, and a lifestyle that resonates deeply with our customers. At Mahindra, we are committed to listening to our customers and adapting to their needs, which is why the new Thar reflects both their feedback and our dedication to providing the best to our customers.”

In addition to the recent product launch, Mahindra’s utility vehicles have maintained robust performance in the domestic market, with dealer dispatches climbing 10% year-on-year to 56,233 units, up from 51,062 units during the same period last year.

The Mumbai-based manufacturer also reported significant growth in its international business, with exports rising by 43% year-on-year to 4,320 units, compared to 3,020 units in the previous year.
