India has announced its ODI and T20I squads for the forthcoming tour of Australia, a series crucial for the reigning ODI champions as they embark on their preparations for the T20 World Cup, set to begin in June 2026. A significant development is the recall of Bharti Fulmali to the national team, marking her first inclusion since 2019.
The 31-year-old Fulmali has excelled in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), which likely contributed to her selection for the national side. She has participated in two T20 Internationals, accumulating 23 runs, and in the WPL, she scored 289 runs across 13 matches at an impressive strike rate of 162.85. Her inclusion is expected to be beneficial for the team, particularly in critical finishing roles.
Shreyanka Patil, who recently returned to competitive cricket following a 14-month injury hiatus, has also been selected for the T20I series. Meanwhile, Harleen Deol has not been included despite her recent standout performances.
In terms of the ODI lineup, Vaishnavi Sharma and G Kamalini have received their first call-ups. Kashvee Gautam has also been incorporated into the ODI squad, replacing Arundhati Reddy. Notably, spinner Radha Yadav has been omitted from both the ODI and T20I teams.
