Former TikTok exec joins Truecaller as Global Ad Sales Head

Truecaller, a popular communications platform known for its call-blocking and caller identification features, recently appointed Hemant Arora as Vice President of Global Ad Sales Business. This strategic move aims to strengthen Truecaller’s advertising revenue stream by leveraging Arora’s extensive experience in managing global accounts across Europe, APAC, and METAP regions during his tenure at TikTok.

Arora’s role at Truecaller involves overseeing the company’s global advertising strategy, with a focus on expanding its ad sales portfolio and market presence. With over 425 million active users worldwide and more than one billion downloads since its launch, Truecaller is a significant player in the digital communications space. CEO Rishit Jhunjhunwala emphasized Arora’s expertise in building scalable revenue models and understanding global markets as essential assets for the company’s growth.

Arora brings with him 25 years of experience from prominent media companies such as Times Network, Dainik Bhaskar Group, NDTV Media, and Discovery Networks South Asia. Truecaller’s decision to appoint Arora comes at a time when the company is looking to capitalize on its position as a major communications platform. With a reported 46 billion unwanted calls blocked in 2023 and a successful listing on Nasdaq Stockholm in 2021, Truecaller is well-positioned to enhance its advertising capabilities and further monetize its user base.
