In a significant development, Mumbai Police has made a breakthrough in the investigation of the stabbing incident involving actor Saif Ali Khan. The prime suspect, Shariful Islam, has been linked to the crime through fingerprint matches found at the scene. Initial reports indicate that several of Islam’s fingerprints match those found at the crime scene, strengthening the case against him. However, authorities are waiting for the final report to confirm these findings.

Earlier this year, Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his Mumbai residence by Mohammad Shariful Islam, a Bangladeshi resident. The assailant trespassed into the actor’s home and assaulted him, resulting in severe injuries that required emergency surgeries. Saif’s staff members, Ariyama Philip and Junu, who were present during the attack, identified Islam as the attacker.

Islam was arrested three days after the incident, but there were doubts raised by some on social media about whether the right person was apprehended. However, the staff members confirmed his identity, and a facial recognition test conducted by Mumbai Police further validated the arrest.

It was revealed that Islam entered India from Bangladesh and stayed in Kolkata before reaching Mumbai. He was apprehended at Hiranandani Estate in Thane as he was planning to flee back to his village in Bangladesh. A case has been filed against him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including charges of attempted murder and trespassing.

The police investigation is ongoing, with further evidence expected to be revealed in the coming days. This breakthrough in the case brings justice closer for Saif Ali Khan and highlights the diligent efforts of law enforcement in solving the crime.
