The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Kerala has released the draft electoral roll compiled under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), aimed at enhancing voter verification ahead of the upcoming state elections.
Chief Electoral Officer Ratan U. Khelkar announced that 2.4 million voters were removed from the draft roll following the enumeration process. Official records indicate that Kerala had 27,850,856 registered voters in the electoral roll published in October 2025.
The SIR has faced criticism from both ruling and opposition parties, who argue that the process was hastily conducted with insufficient time for verification. Concerns have been raised regarding the potential disenfranchisement of eligible voters as a result of what critics describe as arbitrary exclusions.
Voters are encouraged to verify their names through various channels, including the Election Commission of India website, the Chief Electoral Officer Kerala portal, or by contacting Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers.
The final electoral roll for Kerala is scheduled for release on February 21, 2026.
To check if your name appears on the voter list, voters can download the SIR draft electoral roll from the Voter Services Portal. This requires selecting the relevant district and Assembly constituency, followed by the appropriate part number and part name before downloading the PDF file.
The draft electoral rolls from the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) will be accessible in both online and offline formats. Eligible voters can also verify their names through the official Election Commission of India portal at voters.eci.gov.in. Once on the site, users should click on “Search your name in voter list” on the right-hand side, where they can enter their details, including their Elector’s Photo Identity Card (EPIC) number and state, before completing a captcha to display their voter information.
