NEW DELHI: On Saturday morning, over 100 schools in the national capital received bomb threats, which were later confirmed to be hoaxes after comprehensive checks, officials stated.
The email, sent at 6:10 AM, originated from a group identifying itself as ‘Terrorizers111’. Police sources indicated that this group had previously issued similar threats to schools, according to reports by PTI. The subject line of the email read, “Bombs Placed in Your Building – React or Face the Disaster.”
Officials from the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) reported that 10 schools were specifically mentioned in the email, including Delhi Public School (DPS) in Dwarka, Krishna Model Public School, Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, CRPF Public School in Dwarka, and Mata Vidya Devi Public School in Najafgarh.
Following the receipt of the threats, police and bomb disposal units were deployed to inspect the campuses, and students and staff were evacuated as a precautionary measure. “We have thoroughly checked the campuses. Nothing suspicious has been found,” stated a senior police officer. Authorities are now investigating the origins of the threats to determine if they were part of a coordinated effort to instill panic in the community.
