The contract secured by Aurionpro Solutions Limited from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (DMRC) to provide Automated Fare Collection (AFC) technology and equipment for its Phase I, II, and III networks is a significant development in the smart transit sector in India. The Mumbai-based technology company will supply automated gates, validators, and card readers for various operational sectors of DMRC, marking its second major metro project in the country after its recent contract with Chennai Metro.

This contract underscores the company’s commitment to supporting the government’s “Make in India” initiative, as the equipment will be manufactured at Aurionpro’s Ghaziabad facility. Sanjay Bali, President & Global Head of Tech Innovation Group at Aurionpro Solutions, highlighted the importance of this project in establishing the company’s position in India’s smart transit sector. He emphasized that the gates, validators, and payment card readers would be indigenously developed products.

Aurionpro Solutions specializes in technology solutions for various sectors, including banking, mobility, payments, insurance, data center services, and government. With over 2,500 professionals globally, the company focuses on providing Enterprise AI-driven solutions for its international clientele.

Overall, the contract with DMRC not only showcases Aurionpro Solutions’ expertise in providing innovative technology solutions for the transportation sector but also contributes to the development of indigenous manufacturing capabilities in line with the government’s initiatives. This partnership is expected to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of fare collection systems on Delhi Metro’s networks, benefiting millions of commuters in the national capital region.
