In a recent interview, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan revealed that he will be showcasing his action skills in an upcoming film and series. The trailer for the highly-anticipated series ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ was released recently, where Varun talked about how filmmaker Aditya Chopra had initially refused to cast him in an action film due to budget constraints.

During the trailer launch event, Varun mentioned that it was only the South Indian industry that had recognized his potential in the action genre. He expressed his gratitude towards Raj & DK and actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu for giving him the opportunity to do action sequences in ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, which is set to release on Prime Video on November 7.

Varun shared an interesting anecdote about how he had contacted Aditya Chopra for an action film, but due to budget constraints, the project got shelved. Despite the setback, Varun remains hopeful that others in the industry will eventually notice his talent in the action genre.

Apart from ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, Varun is also gearing up for ‘Baby John’ with Atlee and Keerthy Suresh. The actor is excited about the projects lined up for him and is looking forward to showcasing his action skills on screen.
