Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan described his recent flight from Patna to Delhi as “unforgettable,” due to the presence of BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy as his co-pilot. Rudy, a prominent figure in Bihar’s politics, is a four-time MP and former Union minister.

Chouhan took to social media to express his admiration for Rudy’s storytelling abilities, stating, “Rajiv Ji, today you won our hearts… The flight from Patna to Delhi was unforgettable for me, because the co-captain was my dear friend, senior politician, and Chhapra MP, Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy Ji.” He also shared photographs of the two together, along with a handwritten note lauding Rudy.

Rudy provided a poetic description of their flight trajectory, remarking, “The clouds have settled over Patna today, and it’s been raining nonstop since yesterday. As we travel through the clouds and light rain, we’ll be heading toward Delhi. On our way, we’ll fly over Varanasi, with Prayagraj visible on the left and Lucknow on the right. We might even see the Ganga and Yamuna rivers before reaching the capital. If the clouds clear during landing, we might even catch a glimpse of the lights from Noida’s high-rise buildings.”

Earlier that day, Chouhan expressed confidence that the “unprecedented and spectacular” development initiatives of the Narendra Modi government would enable the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to achieve a “record-breaking majority” in the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. He emphasized the ongoing development in the state, referring to it as ‘vikas ki Ganga’ (spree of development initiatives), particularly highlighting the Prime Minister’s recent launch of youth initiatives worth ₹62,000 crore.

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the total number of electors in Bihar’s final voter list is 7.42 crore, down from 7.89 crore as of late June.

The upcoming electoral contest in Bihar is expected to be primarily between the ruling NDA, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and the Mahagathbandhan, spearheaded by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The NDA currently holds 131 seats in the 243-member Bihar Assembly, while the Mahagathbandhan controls 111 seats.

Political activity across the state has intensified, with parties ramping up their campaigns ahead of the high-stakes elections.
