India U19 Squad Announced for Upcoming World Cup and South Africa Series
New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the India U19 squad for the forthcoming U19 World Cup, as well as the upcoming series against South Africa. Ayush Mhatre, who has been named captain for the World Cup, will miss the South Africa series due to a wrist injury. Vaibhav Suryavanshi will take over as captain for the tour.
Both Mhatre and vice-captain Vihaan Malhotra are set to skip the South Africa series, which places Suryavanshi, only 14 years old, at the helm of the U19 team during this critical tour. Aaron George will serve as the vice-captain for the series.
The U19 World Cup is scheduled to commence on January 15 and will be hosted in Zimbabwe and Namibia, with the final set for February 6.
