AXISCADES Technologies Limited and France’s Cilas S.A. have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaboratively develop and supply advanced counter-unmanned aerial system technologies for the Indian armed forces. The agreement focuses on integrating Cilas’ high-energy laser weapon system, Helma-P, into vehicle-mounted defense solutions.

As part of this partnership, AXISCADES will design the overall system architecture to meet the specific requirements of the Indian Army. The collaboration aims to co-develop a vehicle-mounted counter-drone solution that integrates the Helma-P laser within AXISCADES’ command and control system.

Dr. Sampath Ravinarayanan, founder and managing director of AXISCADES, highlighted that the Helma-P has seen deployment by NATO forces, during the Paris Olympics, and by the French Navy. The company intends to locally integrate the laser system and engage in manufacturing to support India’s self-reliance initiative, Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Cilas CEO Oliver Prat remarked on AXISCADES’ established engineering expertise within the French defense ecosystem and noted its early presence in India’s anti-drone warfare sector, which has attracted significant army orders.

Headquartered in Bangalore, AXISCADES employs over 3,000 professionals across 17 global locations, providing technology solutions in aerospace, defense, and related sectors. Founded in 1966, Cilas specializes in laser technology for defense, security, and space applications.

This partnership signifies an enhancement of defense cooperation between India and France in the realm of advanced military technology development.

As of 12:38 PM today, shares of AXISCADES Technologies Limited were trading at ₹1,597.90, reflecting an increase of ₹49.70 or 3.21 percent on the NSE.
