Ravichandran Ashwin Set to Return in Hong Kong Sixes
Hong Kong: Renowned Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin will make his on-field comeback at the Hong Kong Sixes tournament this November, as confirmed by Cricket Hong Kong. The event is scheduled to take place from November 7 to 9, giving cricket fans in Hong Kong the opportunity to see Ashwin play for the first time.
The official announcement on social media highlighted Ashwin’s participation: “Legendary Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (@ashwinravi99) is set to light up Hong Kong! He’ll be a key part of Team India at the @hongkongsixes 2025, happening from 7–9 November. Fans will get the rare chance to watch Ashwin’s wizardry in the fastest, most entertaining format of the game. Get ready, Hong Kong—the stage is set for a cricketing spectacle!”
Recently, Ashwin announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL) to pursue opportunities in various T20 leagues. He is reportedly in discussions to participate in the next season of the Big Bash League and the International League T20. However, his first appearance will be at the Hong Kong Sixes. Ashwin also retired from international cricket last December and may don different jerseys in the upcoming years.
India participated in the Hong Kong Sixes last year, marking its return after a seven-year break. The team, led by Robin Uthappa, included players like Bharat Chipli, Stuart Binny, Shahbaz Nadeem, Kedar Jadhav, Shreevats Goswami, and Manoj Tiwary. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful in the group stage, losing all five matches against Pakistan, the UAE, England, New Zealand, and Oman.
