Amit Shah: “All Ideological Tasks Achieved in a Decade”

AHMEDABAD: The government of Narendra Modi has achieved nearly all the “ideological objectives” it set for its first decade in power, including instilling pride in their civilizational identity among many Hindus who previously felt hesitant, stated Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday at an event in Ahmedabad.

He highlighted key achievements such as the abrogation of Article 370, which granted special status, the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya, the abolition of triple talaq, and efforts to implement a Uniform Civil Code as significant successes. “The Modi government will persist along this trajectory in its third term,” Shah asserted during the inauguration of a Hindu spiritual and services fair at the Gujarat University grounds.

He reflected on a time when openly identifying as a Hindu or discussing Hindu beliefs in Delhi would often be uncomfortable; many chose to remain silent. “Over the past decade, this scenario has shifted… We have accomplished in 10 years what others could not dare to do in seven decades since Independence.”

Shah pointed out the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj as a potent emblem of unity and harmony, where everyone is welcomed to partake in the sacred waters of the Sangam without facing discrimination, thus connecting with an ancient spiritual tradition.

He acknowledged the contributions of Hindu temples and organizations in various spheres, including education for tribal communities and healthcare for millions, noting that their efforts often go unrecognized. Shah expressed gratitude to the RSS for convening all “service-oriented” Hindu organizations under one banner through this significant event.
