On Friday, members of both the AIADMK and BJP left the Tamil Nadu Assembly in protest over alleged financial misconduct related to TASMAC, amounting to ₹1,000 crore.

The Assembly session was marked by chaos as Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu began to present the State Budget. AIADMK leader and Opposition Leader Edapaddi K. Palaniswami requested the Speaker’s permission to address the alleged irregularities in TASMAC dealings, but his request was denied.

In response to the ongoing budget presentation, AIADMK members chose to exit the Assembly. Following their lead, BJP members also walked out in protest of the same issue.
