New Delhi: On November 5, the Indian women’s cricket team met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to celebrate their historic World Cup victory. The interaction, which took place in New Delhi, showcased various anecdotes from the players during the tournament. One of the lighter moments emerged when Harleen Deol humorously inquired about the Prime Minister’s skincare regimen, prompting laughter from both him and the other team members. Deol remarked, “Sir, your skin is always glowing. Can you please tell me what is your skincare routine?” PM Modi responded with amusement, stating, “I do not think about all that.” Another team member chimed in, attributing Modi’s glow to “the love of the millions of this country,” leading to further laughter.

During the meeting, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur expressed her emotions, reminiscing about a previous encounter with Modi in 2017 when the team did not return with a trophy after losing in the final. She reflected, “I still remember, when we met in 2017, we didn’t return with the trophy that time. But today, it’s a matter of great honour for us that we’ve been able to bring home the trophy we’ve been working so hard for all these years. You have doubled — even multiplied — our happiness. Now our aim is to meet you again and again in the future.”

A detailed video of the interaction has been released, showcasing the camaraderie between the players and the Prime Minister.
