What is the outlook for Alkem Laboratories? I bought this stock at ₹5,670.
Sakthi Narmada, Chennai
Alkem Laboratories (₹5,265): The stock is consolidating within the broad uptrend. There is a triangle pattern taking shape. Key supports are at ₹4,900 and ₹4,700. Resistances are at ₹5,700 and ₹5,950. A strong break above ₹5,950 can take the share price higher to ₹7,700 initially and then to ₹9,000 eventually over the next three years or so. Keep a stop-loss at ₹4,520 and hold the stock. You can also accumulate at current levels. Move the stop-loss up to ₹5,550 when the price goes up to ₹6,100. Revise the stop-loss higher to ₹6,300 and ₹7,800 when the price touches ₹7,200 and ₹8,700 respectively. Exit the stock at ₹8,900. The bullish view will go wrong if the stock declines below ₹4,700. If that happens, ₹4,200 can be seen on the downside.
I bought Intellect Design Arena shares at ₹920. Can I accumulate around ₹490?
Elakkiya Rajendran
Intellect Design Arena (₹515): The long-term uptrend seems to have reversed. Strong resistances are at ₹600 and ₹670. There is a danger of seeing a fall to ₹400 from here. In a worst-case scenario, a fall to ₹300 also is a possibility that cannot be ruled out. A rise above ₹700 is needed to ease the downside pressure. Ideally, a sustained break above ₹800 is needed to turn the outlook bullish. Only then a rise to ₹1,200 will come back into the picture. But that looks unlikely at the moment. Since we see high chances for a deeper fall, accumulating at ₹490 is not advisable. Instead, you may have to consider exiting the stock at current levels and accept the loss.
I have shares of Trent. My average purchase price is ₹3,270. What is the outlook?
Isha, Kolkata
Trent (₹3,075): The trend is down since October 2024. However, there is an early sign of a bullish trend reversal. Resistance is around ₹3,300. A break above it will confirm the trend reversal. Such a break can take the share price higher to ₹3,800 initially. It will also keep the upside open to revisit ₹5,000 levels over the next two-three years. You can consider accumulating at current levels. Keep a stop-loss at ₹2,470. Revise the stop-loss higher to ₹3,190 as soon as the stock goes up to ₹3,450. Move the stop-loss higher to ₹3,780 and ₹4,650 when the price touches ₹4,050 and ₹4,850, respectively. Exit the stock at ₹5,000. The bullish view will go wrong only if the price breaks ₹2,650, an important support.
What is the outlook for SRF? I bought this stock at ₹2,650.
Rakesh, Mumbai
SRF (₹2,485): Barring the rise to ₹3,319 in July 2025, the stock has been broadly range-bound. There has been a prolonged sideways move between ₹2,000 and ₹2,900 for more than five years now. Within that, the stock touched a low of ₹2,177 last month and is bouncing back. A strong follow-through rise from here can take the share price higher to ₹2,900-₹3,000 in the next three to five months. If you have a high-risk appetite, accumulate at current levels and hold the stock. Keep the stop-loss at ₹2,140. Move the stop-loss higher to ₹2,580 when the price goes up to ₹2,740. Revise the stop-loss higher to ₹2,640 and ₹2,820 when the share price reaches ₹2,730 and ₹2,880, respectively. Exit the stock at ₹2,940.
