Fusion CX Attracts Significant Investment Ahead of IPO

Private sector insurer Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance, along with notable investors Mukul Agrawal and Ashish Kacholia, recently acquired shares valued at approximately ₹120 crore in Fusion CX. This transaction took place just ahead of the company’s anticipated initial public offering (IPO), which is poised to make waves in the Indian market.

Details of the Share Acquisition

As part of the secondary-market transactions that were finalized on October 9, Kolkata-based Fusion CX’s promoter selling shareholders, P N S Business Private Limited and Rasish Consultants Private Limited, successfully transferred a total of 41.52 lakh equity shares at ₹289 each. This price represents the upper threshold of the price range established for the IPO, reflecting confidence in the company’s growth prospects.

Notably, the shares acquired represent 3.19% of Fusion CX’s equity share capital on a fully diluted basis, indicating a significant interest from institutional and high-net-worth investors ahead of the company’s public listing.

Upcoming IPO Launch and Utilization of Proceeds

Fusion CX is set to launch its ₹702-crore IPO, which will open for subscription from October 14 to October 16. The anchor investor book is scheduled for October 13, allowing early investors to secure allocations. The company has positioned a price band between ₹275 and ₹289 per share, which could value it at about ₹4,200 crore if priced at the upper limit.

The IPO comprises a fresh issue of equity shares worth up to ₹500 crore, alongside an offer for sale (OFS) of equity shares aggregating ₹202 crore by the promoters. Part of the funds—₹275 crore—will be directed towards repaying debts and another ₹61 crore will be invested in technology upgrades for its subsidiaries, demonstrating a focus on sustainability and long-term growth.

Company Overview and Financial Performance

Founded in 2004 by Pankaj Dhanuka and Kishore Saraogi, Fusion CX specializes in providing customer experience and AI data infrastructure services across various sectors. With a global footprint that includes 40 delivery centers in 15 countries, the company has established a formidable presence in the international market.

For FY26, Fusion CX reported an impressive revenue from operations of ₹1,818 crore, with a net profit margin yielding ₹169 crore. This strong financial footing positions the company well for its IPO, attracting significant investor interest amid a recovering economy.

What This Means

The significant investment from well-known entities in the private sector underscores growing confidence in the customer experience sector, particularly in the backdrop of increased digital transformation efforts by businesses post-pandemic. For Indian investors, Fusion CX’s IPO may provide a valuable opportunity to engage with a company that leverages cutting-edge technology to enhance customer engagement across diverse industries. The funds raised through the IPO are strategically earmarked not just for debt repayment but also for technology advancements, which could enhance the company’s competitive edge in a booming sector.
