Deon Energy, a solar engineering firm based in Ahmedabad, has announced plans to launch an initial public offering (IPO) to raise capital. This move signifies the company’s expansion into solar power generation, complementing its existing expertise in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) within the renewable energy sector. The IPO aims to raise funds through a combination of new equity shares and an offer for sale by its promoters.

Details of the IPO Proposal

According to the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) submitted to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Deon Energy’s proposed IPO consists of a fresh issue of up to 72 lakh equity shares, alongside an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 20 lakh shares by its promoters. The capital raised through the fresh issue is earmarked for specific projects, reflecting the company’s strategic focus on sustainable energy.

Investment Utilization Plans

Deon Energy plans to allocate ₹95.80 crore from the proceeds of the fresh issue to establish a new 30 MW DC independent power production facility across six identified sites in Gujarat. This expansion targets critical regions such as Junagadh, Surendranagar, and Kachchh, positioning the company strategically in the burgeoning solar energy market in India.

Additionally, the firm intends to set aside ₹75 crore to meet its working capital requirements and use the remaining funds for general corporate purposes, strengthening its financial standing for future projects.

Company Background and Performance

Since its inception as a partnership in 2020, Deon Energy has made significant strides in solar power. As of August 2026, the company has successfully completed 126 solar projects with a combined capacity of 321.53 MW DC. This impressive track record underscores Deon Energy’s capabilities in delivering successful renewable energy solutions.

As of the same date, the firm’s outstanding EPC order book amounts to ₹527.43 crore, spread across 34 projects. The company’s diverse clientele spans several industrial sectors, including ceramics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and paper. Noteworthy collaborations include work with prominent firms like Makson Pharmaceuticals India and Omax Cotspin.

Financially, Deon Energy has exhibited robust growth, with revenue from operations escalating from ₹298.54 crore in FY25 to ₹456.28 crore in FY26. Likewise, profit after tax surged to ₹46.06 crore, up from ₹26.41 crore, reflecting the company’s strengthening market position in the renewable sector.

What This Means

The IPO represents a significant milestone not just for Deon Energy, but also for the Indian renewable energy market. India is on a fast track to achieving ambitious renewable energy goals, and companies like Deon Energy are crucial to this vision. By entering the public markets, Deon Energy can access a broader capital base, which could enhance its ability to develop sustainable energy projects.

Furthermore, as the demand for solar energy continues to grow, the company’s expansion into solar power generation aligns well with governmental initiatives to boost renewable energy sources. This may signal to investors a growing confidence in the industry, crucial for attracting more foreign investment into India’s renewable energy landscape.
