Four Companies Set to Raise ₹3,362 Crore in Upcoming IPO Surge Next Week

Four companies are set to tap into the Indian capital markets next week via their initial public offerings (IPOs). This wave comes despite recent volatility in the secondary markets, with the new listings aiming to raise a cumulative ₹3,362 crore. Notably, Rentomojo is among these listings, seeking to raise ₹1,255 crore.

Upcoming IPOs and Their Financials

Rentomojo, a furniture and appliance rental service, has established a share issuance price band of ₹384-404 per share for its IPO, which opens on September 9. The public offering includes a fresh issue of ₹150 crore and an offer for sale of 2.73 crore equity shares, with an estimated valuation of around ₹1,105 crore at the upper limit of the price band. A portion of the proceeds, ₹70 crore, will be used to reduce existing borrowings, which stood at ₹258 crore as of June.

In addition, Manipal Payment and Identity Solutions has announced a price band of ₹322 to ₹339 per share for its ₹805-crore IPO, which will also open on September 9. The IPO features a fresh issue of shares valued at ₹320 crore and a further offer for sale of 1.43 crore shares totaling ₹485 crore. The funds raised will mainly be allocated to purchasing new and second-hand equipment, enhancing the company’s technological capabilities.

Karamtara Engineering, a renewable energy sector player, will open its IPO on the same date, targeting ₹875 crore with a price band of ₹241-254 per share. This IPO also includes a fresh issue of ₹675 crore, while promoters will sell shares worth ₹200 crore. The firm is looking to expand into battery energy storage systems, reflecting a broader trend toward renewable energy in India.

Lastly, LCC Projects, focusing on irrigation and water supply, plans to raise ₹427 crore with a price range of ₹139-146 per share. Their fresh issue will account for ₹258 crore, while promoters will offload shares worth ₹169 crore. The company has a significant order book amounting to ₹7,953 crore, indicating steady demand in the infrastructure sector.

Approval from SEBI

Significantly, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has granted clearances for four IPOs recently, including those from NSE and RKB Global. This regulatory approval reflects confidence in the stability of incoming offerings amid a fluctuating market, which could encourage more companies to consider equity financing as a viable option.

The listing of these IPOs might also promote a more comprehensive recovery in the stock market, as increased participation from both institutional and retail investors could mitigate some of the risks inherent in current market conditions.

What This Means

The upcoming IPOs signal a healthy investor interest and confidence in specific sectors, particularly in fintech, renewable energy, and essential services like irrigation. They also indicate that companies are increasingly turning to the public markets for funding, which could lead to greater competition and innovation. With regulatory bodies like SEBI providing necessary approvals, the market appears conducive for new entrants, offering potential for enhanced economic activity.
