CBSE Unveils Online Re-evaluation Portal Amid Ongoing OSM Tender Controversy

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has activated its online portal for the verification of marks and the re-evaluation of answer scripts. This portal is now open to candidates who wish to contest the marks received in their recent board examinations.

Students are encouraged to view a step-by-step video guide that has been released to assist with the application process. The CBSE highlighted the importance of this video, noting that common errors—such as selecting the wrong subject or payment issues—can lead to the rejection of applications.

Candidates can access the official verification portal at postresult.cbseit.in/pvr/. After visiting the site, they must select their examination type and log in using their roll number and date of birth. The platform provides two primary services: verification of marks, which includes checking for unresolved answers or calculation mistakes, and re-evaluation, where an examiner reviews the answer script again. A nominal, non-refundable fee is assessed per question or subject, payable online through the site’s payment gateway.

This development coincides with ongoing concerns surrounding the On-screen Marking (OSM) process. Complaints have emerged from students regarding blurred answer sheets, missing pages, and discrepancies in scanned copies during the re-evaluation process. In response, the education ministry has begun an internal investigation into potential irregularities linked to this digital evaluation system. Additionally, ethical hackers and cybersecurity researchers have raised alarms about vulnerabilities within CBSE’s digital assessment infrastructure.
