New Delhi:

VinFast is making significant strides in the Indian market, focusing not only on its vehicle offerings but also on establishing a robust charging infrastructure. The company’s in-house charging division, V-Green, has secured a partnership with ChargeZone, positioning itself as one of the leading electric vehicle (EV) charging companies in India. Together, they aim to develop a dedicated network for VinFast customers across the country.

Dedicated charging network for VinFast owners

This partnership marks VinFast’s inaugural collaboration with an Indian company and is a strategic move as they prepare for their EV launches in the region. V-Green will identify optimal locations and map out the network’s expansion, while ChargeZone will be responsible for the implementation, operation, and maintenance of each charging station. The overarching goal is straightforward: to alleviate concerns over charging accessibility for potential electric car buyers. VinFast and ChargeZone are committed to addressing this challenge.

First charging station opens in Gujarat

The first co-branded charging station has commenced operations in Vadodara, Gujarat, conveniently located next to a VinFast dealership at the Mangla Trade Hub. The facility features a 60kW DC fast charger equipped with dual-gun technology, allowing two vehicles to charge simultaneously. This innovation aims to reduce waiting times and enhance convenience for drivers. This initiative marks just the beginning, particularly as VinFast’s vehicle lineup expands in India.

15 Stations already operational

The rollout of the charging network is already progressing, with 15 VinFast-ChargeZone stations currently operational in various locations around the country. This initial phase serves as the foundation for future developments.

100 More charging stations planned

V-Green and ChargeZone plan to install approximately 100 additional charging stations within the next six months. Their focus will be on major cities, busy highways, and key travel routes, making it more convenient for EV users to charge their vehicles while on the move.

Strengthening India’s EV ecosystem

V-Green is not new to the charging landscape; the company operates around 150,000 charging ports in Vietnam and is now expanding its footprint in countries such as Indonesia and the Philippines. Meanwhile, ChargeZone boasts significant experience, managing over 15,000 charging points across India and the UAE.

This collaboration is crucial for VinFast as it deepens its presence in the Indian market. The enhanced charging network is expected to make EV ownership more attainable, addressing concerns over charging accessibility and encouraging a wider adoption of electric vehicles. This initiative presents a significant opportunity for the advancement of India’s electric mobility future.
